Ayvazovsky’s less famous works dedicated to Armenia will be exhibited in Zhytomyr

An exhibition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of seascape painter Hovhannes Aivazovsky will open in Zhytomyr, Ukraine.

Vahe Petrosyan, Executive Director of the Armenian community in Zhytomyr, informed that the opening will take place on November 15 in the Zhytomyr Regional Universal Scientific Library.

During the exhibition, Aivazovsky's less popular works dedicated to Armenia and Ukraine, as well as religious paintings, icons will be demonstrated, reports

For the first time, copies of unique archival materials will also be exhibited where the artist's family is depicted in separate episodes of his life. The exhibition will be open until November 30.

Recently, another exhibition of Aivazovski's works has been opened in Kiev, Ukraine, which was again dedicated to his 200th anniversary.
